Privacy policy

Your data follows the import you request.

MacroBridge reads selected MyFitnessPal diary data in your browser and writes it to a Google Sheet you choose. MacroBridge does not operate a server that receives extension user data.

Effective: [Effective date before publication]

01

Scope

This policy covers the MacroBridge Chrome extension and this informational website. The website has no login, forms, analytics, advertising, or tracking, and it does not receive diary information from the extension.

02

Information MacroBridge handles

Nutrition and diary data

Requested diary dates, meals, foods, calories, macronutrients, sodium, sugar, and related diary details. This can be health-related information.

MyFitnessPal account and session

Your username, user ID, and a short-lived MyFitnessPal access token. Chrome attaches existing authentication cookies to requests. MacroBridge does not request the Chrome cookies permission, read those cookies directly, or store them.

Google authorization

Chrome Identity obtains and caches Google OAuth authorization. MacroBridge receives the token needed to call the Google Sheets API directly, never your Google password.

Google Sheet information

The spreadsheet URL or ID you select, its title, worksheet metadata, existing MacroBridge headers and cells, and cells written by the import. The current spreadsheetsOAuth scope authorizes access to all Google Sheets spreadsheets in the connected account, but MacroBridge acts only on the spreadsheet you select.

Limited browsing activity

The active tab URL, used only to detect an open Google Sheet and extract its spreadsheet ID. MacroBridge does not build a browsing history or use the URL for advertising or analytics.

Settings on your device

Date ranges, the selected Personal or Friends tab, friend usernames, and checkbox selections. Friend settings are kept separate for each connected MyFitnessPal account. A pasted Sheet URL is handled while the panel is open but is not saved with these settings.

Friends import status: [Pending decision]. This policy covers the feature whenever it is available in the installed version.

03

How information is used and where it goes

MacroBridge uses this information only to authenticate the requested connections, read the diary days you select, organize entries, identify the destination spreadsheet, avoid duplicate date imports, and write the resulting cells.

Data destination

Diary data is requested from MyFitnessPal and sent to the Google Sheets API for your import. It moves through the extension in your browser. No extension data is sent to developer-operated servers.

No sale, advertising, analytics, or unrelated use

MacroBridge does not sell extension user data or use it for advertising, profiling, credit, analytics, market research, data brokerage, or any purpose unrelated to the diary-to-Sheet import. There is no routine human access to extension user data. A person may read information you voluntarily send to the contact email, so do not send sensitive diary or authentication data.

04

Local storage and retention

InformationWhere and how long
chrome.storage.sessionHolds a short-lived MyFitnessPal token, user ID, username, and cache timing. A stale entry may remain but is not reused. Refresh overwrites it, confirmed logout removes it, and Chrome clears session storage when the browser session ends.
chrome.storage.localHolds date ranges, the selected tab, and per-account friend usernames and selections until you clear extension data or remove MacroBridge.
Google OAuth tokenCached by Chrome Identity until it expires, is removed from the cache, or you revoke access.
Imported diary dataRemains in your Google Sheet until you edit or delete the cells or worksheets.
Diary content in MacroBridgeProcessed during the import and not cached in Chrome local storage or retained on a MacroBridge server.
05

Your controls and deletion choices

  • Remove MacroBridge from Chrome to clear local and session storage.
  • Clear extension storage manually while keeping the extension installed.
  • Delete imported cells or MacroBridge worksheets in Google Sheets.
  • Revoke MacroBridge from your Google Account connections.
  • Change destination spreadsheet sharing permissions at any time.
06

Google API and Chrome Web Store Limited Use

MacroBridge's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy and the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

07

Security

MacroBridge uses HTTPS for MyFitnessPal and Google requests. Chrome attaches authentication cookies; the extension does not read or store them directly. Chrome Identity handles Google OAuth tokens. No software or transmission method is risk-free, so keep Chrome current and review access to your destination spreadsheet.

08

Children and intended audience

MacroBridge is for people permitted to use MyFitnessPal, Google, and Chrome under those services' terms. It is not directed to children. A parent or guardian should supervise permitted use where required. MacroBridge does not knowingly collect children's diary data on a developer-operated server because no such extension data server exists.

09

Policy changes and contact

Revised policies will appear at this stable URL with a new effective date. Material changes will also be communicated in the Chrome Web Store listing or extension where appropriate before they take effect.
